Deaf Pit Bull Shakes And Cries At Shelter After Best Friend Gets Adopted

Shelter dogs go through a great deal of misery and sadness. One of the best ways for them to ease their sense of loneliness is by making friends with the other animals that they share their residence with. Marshmallow is a deaf white pitbull and while she was initially all alone at the Unleashed Pet Rescue and Adoption Shelter, she would eventually find a friend by the name of Scooby.
The two became great pals and spent all of their time together and when Scooby got adopted, it seemed as if their fun ride had come to a close. Once Scooby was gone, Marshmallow became very depressed and started crying on a regular basis. The loss of her pal and roommate had made her extremely sad and the confused dog had no idea what to do without the presence of Scooby.

The shelter stepped up their efforts to find her a forever home to call her own and while there are many who struggle with the concept of a special needs dog, Marshmallow can still provide someone with a quality pet. Unfortunately, she has already been adopted twice and has been brought back to the shelter on both occasions. This is a dog who has gotten very used to the concept of heartbreak.
Marshmallow’s story finally took a turn for the better recently as she engaged in a few meet and greets with potential families. She finally found a new home and she now lives the life that all shelter animals dream of. She gets lots and lots of food, love and affection. The belly rubs never stop and she is now able to enjoy the rest and relaxation that she has always deserved.
Marshmallow is definitely a survivor and her willingness to push onward should serve as an inspiration to us all. Marshmallow’s story is one that occurs far too often for our liking and while it is understandable for families to be reticent about adopting special needs animals, there is nothing wrong with these pets and they are every bit as deserving of our love and consideration as any animal.

Please take time out to share this story, so that we can raise awareness about the plight of dogs just like Marshmallow. While it is always sad to see a dog who cannot find a forever home and it hurts our heart to know she was brought back to the shelter (twice!), we are beyond happy to see her enjoying her brand new forever home.
