Animal Aid’s rescue team responded to one phone call in India, concerning a stray puppy whose yelps and whimpers warranted immediate help. Rescuers found the puppy alone and abandoned in an empty parking lot, where he cowered behind bushes and along the walls surrounding the place. What was worse was that the puppy had sustained a bloody and torn ear injury, and that was the source of his terrible pain.
Members of the rescue team approached the puppy with caution, covering the puppy in a blanket and scooping him up into his arms to carry the canine back to their vehicle. The rescuer responsible for him had tried his best to be gentle with the puppy, but the pain never went away. Despite his injury, the puppy did not struggle and was successfully carried into their truck to be brought back to headquarters. They needed to sedate the puppy in order to clean his wounds better and assess his physical state.
After cleaning the exposed wound around his ear which was almost entirely torn away, the puppy needed stitching to be done ASAP. They would need to surgically remove the puppy’s torn ear for him to be comfortable again, as well as to prevent any further bacterial infections.

It was successful surgery, thanks to the team at Animal Aid. After two weeks of recovery, the puppy, now with a single ear, was affectionately named Banjo. Due to Animal Aid’s hard work, Banjo is now happy, healthy and ready to begin his new life.
